Ghana is one of West Africa's most agriculturally endowed nations, blessed with fertile land, reliable rainfall, a hardworking farming population, and a government committed to food security. Yet Ghana continues to import billions of dollars' worth of food that it has the capacity to grow at home. DADDS's Smart Agriculture initiative exists to change that. Our vision is a Ghana where smallholder and commercial farmers are equipped with the technology, knowledge, capital, and market access they need to produce abundantly, profitably, and sustainably, feeding Ghana first, and Africa next. We see technology not as a replacement for the farmer, but as the most powerful tool a farmer can have in their hands.
Your partnership and input can help make a difference. Help support our initiatives to create a better future for our African communities.
Ghana's agricultural sector contributes approximately 20% of GDP and employs over 40% of the workforce, yet it remains largely unmechanised and under-resourced. DADDS Smart Agriculture is designed to unlock this latent potential at scale.
Real-time crop monitoring using AI-powered sensors, satellite imaging, and data analytics to predict yields, detect disease, and optimise irrigation.
Agricultural drones for aerial crop surveillance, precision pesticide application, and field mapping, reducing waste and improving accuracy.
Clean energy irrigation systems that free farmers from dependence on rainfall and enable year-round cultivation of high-value crops.
Modern cold storage and post-harvest handling facilities to reduce the 30–40% post-harvest losses that devastate farmer incomes across Ghana.
Farmer-facing mobile applications for market pricing, weather alerts, input procurement, and crop advisory, accessible on any smartphone.
Linkages to agricultural credit, crop insurance, and diaspora investment funds to provide the capital farmers need to adopt new technologies.
DADDS Smart Agriculture is designed to serve multiple levels of the agricultural value chain simultaneously:
Initiative in Pipeline - Partnership Development & Feasibility Assessment Phase
Rice, Maize, Cassava, Vegetables, Soybean, with scope to expand based on regional demand and soil analysis.
Northern Ghana (rice & soybean belt), Volta Region (vegetable & cassava), and Greater Accra peri-urban farming zones.
AgriTech solution providers, development finance institutions, government agricultural agencies (MOFA), NGOs with farmer networks
Blended finance - combining diaspora investment, development grants, and government co-funding for maximum community impact.
If you are an investor, agritech company, development organisation, or diaspora African who believes in the power of smart farming to transform Ghana's food future, DADDS wants to hear from you. This initiative is being built collaboratively, and your partnership could help shape its direction.
